  24. I am prgramming MACRO (assembly) on the VAX and I would like to learn assembly
  25. on the ST.  I would also like to see about portings some of my stuff back and
  26. forth between the two.  Just for practice... and a great way to learn 68000
  27. assembly....

  51. OK, here's the deal...
  52.  
  53. I plan on purchasing a TT when/if they ever materialize, but in the
  54. meantime, I would like to upgrade my existing ST system without
  55. having to buy a new Mega.
  56.  
  57. I have a 4 year old Atari 520 ST (not one of the old trouble-making
  58. originals with the bad power supply and first-off-the-assembly-line
  59. revision on the motherboard...this was purchesed during the last half of 1986,
  60. and has the second revision motherboard -- revision B, I think? - it's
  61. been a few years since I opened it up.)
  62.  
  63. Anyhow, I piggybacked another half a meg worth of chips on top of
  64. the originals shortly after purchase...and there she sits: a 1 Meg
  65. ST...chugging along happily for nearly half a decade with no problems,
  66. no woes, no mishaps of any kind...now here comes Daddy, and he's gonna
  67. open 'er up again like so much oysters...
  68.  
  69. I would like to bump the memory up to 2.5 Megs. Now, I know what
  70. has to be done....that's not the perpose of this inquiry...the
  71. question I put forth to y'all is: *should* it be done?
  72.  
  73. Given the history and age of my machine, will it survive? Will its
  74. power supply be able to handle the additional RAM? Has anyone
  75. had any problems with older machines and power supply problems to
  76. greater thann 1 Meg worth of chips?
  77.

  125. the back of my ST to my RGB Magnavox monitor.  I have been told that they can
  126. be made up, I am currently looking for a good price on one.

  146. How can You say that AMCGDOS is PD, if there is clearly a copyright
  147. in the program startup? AMCGDOS is free ONLY for NON-COMMERCIAL usage!

  184.   I'm having trouble with transfer from the VAX (running VMS 5.2) and my
  185. 1040 ST (using Uniterm V2.0e 002).  I've tried both xmodem (I don't know the
  186. version number on the VAX) and VMS Kermit-32 version 3.3.118.

  188.   I am able to send files from my ST to vax, But I can do the reverse.  With
  189. both methods I get disk write error just before it is complete.  According to
  190. the transfer screen, it transferes, but the file doesn't get written to the
  191. disk.

  193.   I was able to do this with the school's AT&T computers, but not my own.  If
  194. anyone has any ideas, please either post them, or e-mail me direct.

  212.         Query..  I have just got a copy of Sozobon C and began to right of
  213. couple of programs for it. One of these programs was a simple screen load
  214. program to swap between screens stored in memory.  This program required the
  215. use of the Gemdos function Malloc, however the complier refused to complie.
  216. Thinking that this was a fault in the program I just entered I entered this
  217. very small program:
